There is also a reason they keep emphasizing national security for everything. We have not only given the executive an insane amount of power when it comes to national security, but we have given them a ton of leeway on what counts as against national interests. And don’t think it only applies to migrants.

Protesting against Trump annexing Greenland or going to war with Iran? Well, that sounds to me like you’re trying to cause civil disorder and attack national security interests… I guarantee the insurrection act will be used to clamp down on those protests.

Martial law is his last resort to stay in power once his 4 years are up. Once he declared that he has 100% of control of everything and can cancel elections under any excuse without any process.
